Summary
During the last 10 years the productivity of grassland and forage crop land has been recorded on 70 Organic Dairy Farms. An average yield of 32162 MJ NEL/ha has been achieved (netto yield measured by intake of the cow). The spring dryness of the last years, as expected, has affected the different sites quite differently: (measured by intake of the cow). Sandy soils have been particularly affected (except moist sites).
Peat soils, partly marshy soils and in general moist sites could profit from moderate dryness.
