Summary

Sustainability and resilience are often linked to re-localisation of agrifood systems both in the claims of social movements and in a great part of the scientific literature. This plenary invited conference, based on the analysis of recent and ongoing debates in the scientific, civil society and institutional arenas, and on the empirical evidence of French and Brazilian case studies, shows that what is at stake is also and probably more a need to reconnect agriculture and food and to see the possible reconnections in a perspective that goes beyond the issue of re-localisation.
