Summary
In der landwirtschaftlichen Beratung – auch bei Ökobetrieben – werden in der Regel produktionstechnische oder betriebswirtschaftliche Fragestellungen bearbeitet. Eine Beratung, die alle Nachhaltigkeitsdimensionen umfasst und dem Betriebsleiter ein Instrument an die Hand gibt, in dem der Gesamtbetrieb widergespiegelt wird, fehlt bislang.
Ziel des noch laufenden Projektes ist die Entwicklung eines Beratungsangebots, mit dem landwirtschaftliche Betriebe wirksam bei einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung unterstützt werden können. Wichtiges Novum ist der Weg der freiwilligen, selbstbestimmten Betriebsentwicklung zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit in Abgrenzung zu von außen kommenden Richtlinien.

Development and test of an advice-concept for sustainable development of farms
Sustainable agriculture is an objective which is pursued by many sites. Organic farming in particular aims at fostering sustainable farming practices. To reach the goals of sustainable agriculture, further development of farms is necessary. This should be accompanied by a solid advice of the farms. The project’s aim is the development of a general concept for advice in sustainability. This includes the adaption of the sustainability assessment method, the Response-Inducing Sustainability Evaluation (RISE), to the specific needs of its application in Germany and in organic farming. The adapted tool allows for a general assessment of the state of sustainability of farms and the deduction of basic potentials and strategies for optimization. Based on the sustainability assessment, advanced instruments for in-depth advice on specific topics, such as greenhouse gas balance, are being developed and tested.
