Summary
O objetivo desta pesquisa foi compreender o processo de transição da agricultura “convencional” para agricultura de base ecológica na região do Alto Uruguai Catarinense e Gaúcho, a partir de três associações de pequenos agricultores, a AAFA, a APARG e a A. P. do UVÁ, todas assistidas pelo Centro de Apoio ao Pequeno Agricultor-CAPA, ONG vinculada a Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana no Brasil. As informações foram coletadas através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas junto às famílias pertencentes às associações e com os técnicos do CAPA. As conclusões centrais do trabalho demonstraram que a decisão em realizar a transição foram tomadas pelos agricultores após receberem informações e adquirirem conhecimento relacionados principalmente com os danos que a agricultura convencional causa ao meio ambiente e à sociedade, conhecimentos estrategicamente proporcionados pelo CAPA em parceria com outras entidades, e apoio organizativo. Ficou evidenciada a necessidade de unir forças da sociedade civil organizada, a igreja, os STRs, as ONGs e outras com o poder público federal, estadual e municipal para juntos promover e fortalecer a proposta agroecológica, através da construção de políticas públicas adequadas, elaboradas de forma participativa. Percebeu-se que é através de informação e da formação política, econômica e social que os agricultores promovem as suas decisões, lembrando que estes não levam em conta um único parâmetro na tomada de decisões, considerando seu papel na sociedade: produção de alimentos de qualidade e que não afetem a saúde da população.
Summary translation
The objective of this research was to comprehend the “conventional” agriculture transition process for of ecological base agriculture in Alto Uruguai Catarinense and Gaúcho areas, starting from three associations of small farmers, AAFA, APARG and the A. P. of UVÁ, ali attended by the Support Center for Small Farmers (Centro de Apoio ao pequeno Agricultor- CAPA), ONG linked to the Lutheran Confession of Evangelical Church in the Brazil. The informations was collected through semi-structured interviews together with the families belonging to the associations and with the CAPA technicians. The works central conclusions proved that the decision in accomplishing the transition was made by the farmers after receiving information and acquiring related knowledge, mainly with the damages that the conventional agriculture causes to the environment and the society, knowledge strategically proportionate by the CAPA in partnership with other entities, and organizational support. It was proved the need of uniting forces of the organized civil society, the church, STRs, ONGs and others with the federal, State and municipal public power, ali together promote and strengthen the proposal agro ecological, through the construction of appropriate public politics, elaborated of participative form. It was noticed that it is through information and political, economical and social formation that the farmers promote their decisions, reminding that they don't take into account any parameter in the decision making, considering their role in society: Quality food production and that they don't affect the population’s health.
