Summary
O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi analisar aspectos do sistema de producao em propriedades agroecologicas em areas da reforma agraria na regiao do baixo Acre. Foram realizados trabalhos de: a) descricao do processo historico e o estado da arte da agroecologia na regiao do baixo Acre; b) analise do sistema de producao rural adotado por agricultores agroecologicos do baixo Acre; c) avaliacao dos aspectos sociais, economicos e de gestao em propriedades e; d) conhecer o consumo de produtos agroecologicos em Rio Branco-AC. O trabalho foi desenvolvido junto a 32 agricultores agroecologicos assentados pela reforma agraria, pertencente aos projetos de assentamento Benfica, Humaita e Moreno Maia, localizados na regiao do baixo Acre. No trabalho sobre o consumo de produtos agroecologicos foram entrevistados 103 consumidores da Feira Organica de Produtos Naturais de Rio Branco. As informações foram obtidas a partir de dados secundarios e aplicacao de questionarios, referente ao periodo de 1997 a 2007. O movimento pela adocao da agroecologia no Acre foi iniciado por agricultores agroecologicos no inicio dos anos 90, sendo oficialmente implantado a partir de 1997, via esforco conjunto de entidades e instituicoes locais. Realizadas centenas de atividades de treinamento em agroecologia, atingindo cerca de 3310 pessoas, notadamente no baixo Acre. Observou-se a ocorrencia de diversos agroambientes nas areas de producao. Verificou-se alta riqueza em agrobiodiversidade vegetal, registrando-se ate 165 especies vegetais ocorrendo em quintais agroflorestais, avaliados e expressados pelos indices de biodiversidade de especies (1,2 a 3,2). Os agricultores adotam praticas agricolas agroecologicas no manejo agropecuario e florestal. A criacao da feira viabilizou o estabelecimento da agroecologia no baixo Acre, pela venda direta da producao agroecologica. A atividade para os produtores entrevistados e rentavel, sendo a unica fonte de renda de 35% das familias. A inadimplencia entre os agricultores e baixa (18,5%) mesmo com alta acessibilidade ao credito. Cerca de 72% da producao agroecologica e comercializada diretamente na feira. As dificuldades na infra-estrutura de transporte limitam o escoamento da produção e agravam os problemas de saude e educacao encontrados no campo. O setor da agroecologia no Acre cresceu 204% em onze anos devido ao aumento da produtividade, numero de agricultores e consumidor. A pesquisa revelou que os consumidores de produtos agroecologicos sao bem informados sobre causas ambientais e origem dos produtos adquiridos, apresenta idade media (48 a 51), ambos os sexos, elevado nivel de escolaridade, confirma os produtos serem saudaveis e baratos alem de manter vinculo com o agricultor permitindo troca de experiencias. A producao, transporte e a comercializacao comunitaria de produtos caracterizam a existencia do arranjo produtivo local (APL) dos produtos agroecologicos do baixo Acre. A organizacao dos agricultores, a motivacao da sociedade e do governo em acreditar na possibilidade de oferta de alimentos de melhor qualidade para a populacao local são fatores essenciais para o avanco da agroecologia no Acre.
Summary translation
The main purpose of this study was to analyze aspects of the production system in Agroecological properties in areas of agrarian reform in the region of low Acre. Work has been made of: a) description of the historical process and the State of the art of agroecology in the low Acre b) analysis of the production system adopted by rural farmers agroecologicos low of Acre, c) assessment of social, economic and management in properties and d) understand the consumption of products agroecologicos in Rio Branco-AC. The work was carried out to 32 farmers agroecologicos settlers agrarian reform, belonging to the projects of settlement Benfica, Humaita and Moreno Maia, located in the low Acre. At work on the consumption of products agroecologicos were interviewed 103 consumers of organic Fair of Natural Products of Rio Branco. The information was obtained from secondary data and application of guestionnaires, covering the period 1997 to 2007. The movement by the adoption of agroecology in Acre agroecologicos was initiated by farmers in the early 90, being officially implemented from 1997 through joint efforts by local authorities and institutions. Made hundreds of training activities in agroecology, to about 3310 people, especially in low Acre. There was the occurrence of various agroambientes in the areas of production. There was high wealth in agrobiodiversity plant, registering up to 165 plant species occurring in backyards agroforestry, evaluated and expressed by the Indices of biodiversity of species (1.2 to 3.2). Farmers adopt agricultural practices Agroecological in agricultural and forestry management. The creation of the fair enabled the establishment of agroecology in low Acre, venda the direct production of agro. The activity for producers interviewed is profitable, as the only source of income of 35% of households. The bad debts among farmers is low (18.5%) even with high accessibility to credit. Approximately 72% of agro-production is marketed directly at the fair. The difficulties in transport infrastructure limit the flow of production and aggravate the problems of health and education found in the field. The sector of agroecology in Acre grew 204% in eleven years by increased productivity, number of farmers and consumers. The research showed that consumers of products agroecologicos are well informed about environmental causes and origin of products purchased, has an average age (48 to 51), both sexes, high education levei, confirms the products are healthier and cheaper than maintaining ties with the farmer allowing exchange of experiences. The production, transportation and marketing of products Community characterize the existence of local production arrangement (APL) of the products of low agroecologicos Acre. The organization of farmers, the motivation of society and government to believe in the possibility of supply of food of better quality for the local population are factors essential to the advancement of agroecology in Acre.
