Summary
Ao se estudar o meio agrário do litoral paranaense é fácil constatar as dificuldades que este enfrenta para encontrar um caminho que permita o seu desenvolvimento sustentável. A presente dissertação visa contribuir nas discussões e consequentemente na procura de soluções para este panorama, objetivando conhecer e discutir se o conhecimento gerado pela Agroecologia pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável do litoral paranaense. Para tanto é utilizada a teoria do pensamento complexo, a qual corresponde a um método que sugere a adoção de um modo diferenciado de abordar e atuar no mundo, de maneira sistêmica e holística. Neste método prioriza-se a compreensão das causas dos
fenômenos observados, e não somente entender como estes se processam. Foram utilizadas metodologias diversas, organizadas em três fases. Na primeira, denominada contextualização, foram realizadas revisões bibliográficas e vivências que possibilitaram conhecer de forma abrangente a realidade da região foco deste estudo. A segunda fase constituiu-se de entrevistas com os protagonistas locais, institucionais e individuais, que propiciaram uma compreensão sobre a visão destes a respeito das realidades por eles vivenciadas. Por fim, na terceira fase, as informações oriundas destas diversas fontes foram inter-relacionadas e discutidas para que se chegasse a conclusões coerentes e que contribuam para a melhoria das condições de vida das comunidades locais. Assim, foi possível concluir que, considerando-se os aspectos analisados e apesar de alguns entraves, o litoral paranaense se conforma como um local propício para que o conhecimento derivado da abordagem diferenciada da Agroecologia possa se materializar em estratégias operativas capazes de modificar as condições de vida dos agricultores locais. Sustentando esta afirmativa foram relacionadas as seguintes características, singulares da região: suas condicionantes históricas, suas condições edafoclimáticas, presença de importantes remanescentes de biodiversidade, articulação interinstitucional, presença significativa de pequenos agricultores familiares, legislação diferenciada sobre o uso do solo, entre outras. Deste modo, afirma-se que a Agroecologia possui o potencial de transformar, no futuro, o meio agrário do litoral paranaense em um local que pode servir de exemplo para regiões interessadas em encontrar um processo de desenvolvimento que seja socialmente inclusivo, ambientalmente responsável, economicamente viável e que respeite as demais dimensões da sustentabilidade.
Summary translation
When studying the coastal agrarian environment of the Paraná State, is easy to realize the faced difficulties to find a path that allows it a sustainable development. This thesis aims to contribute in the discussions and consequently in the search for solutions to solve this dilemma. Therefore this paper uses the complex thinking theory consisted by a method that suggests the adoption of a different way, more systemic and holistic, to approach and act in the world. In this method the priority is to understand the causes of the observed phenomena, and not only understand how they happen. Because follow these different ways this thesis breaks with the dominant scientific paradigms, and it is reflected in its format, in the adopted methodologies and in the discussions made. To achieve its objective, consisted in knowing and discuss if the knowledge conceived for the Agroecology could contribute for the sustainable development of the Paraná State’s coast region, this paper uses diversified methodologies, here organized in three phases. In the first, called contextualization, were made bibliographic revisions and some incursions to the studied region that allowed knowing it from a broad angle. The second phase was constituted by a series of interviews with local people and institutions allowing understanding theirs visions about the reality lived by them. Thereafter, in the third phase, the information from those different sources were interrelated and discussed to achieve coherent conclusions that could contribute to improve the life conditions of the local communities. After to pass through this process, this thesis infers the Parana’s coastal region is a propitious place where the knowledge derived from the different approach of the Agroecology could be materialized in operatives’ strategies able of modifying the life conditions of the local farmers. This can occur because of the singular conditions of this region, such as: its historic conditionings, its landscape conditions, the presence of rich biodiversity areas, inter-institutional articulations, a significant presence of small family farmers, a different legislation about land uses, beyond others characteristics here discussed. Therefore this thesis affirms the Agroecology has the potential of transforming, in the future, the coastal agrarian environment of the Paraná State in a place that could be a example to other regions interested in finding a development process socially includent, environmentally responsible, economically viable and that respects the others dimensions of sustainability
