Summary
In der allgemeinen und angewandten Entomologie nehmen die Laufkäfer seit Jahren eine wichtige Stellung ein. Die Vielfalt und Schönheit der Käfer, ihre Nützlichkeit als Schädlingsvertilger und ihre Empfindlichkeit auf Umweltveränderungen (Bioindykotion) wecken grosse Aufmerksamkeit unter den Fachleuten der Entomologie, Agronomie und Ökologie.
Summary translation
Carabid beetles (Carabidae) with more than 25 000 species one of the largest beetle families are spread over all regions of the world. They live in almost every habitat where insects are found.
Two developmental types, the autumn breeders with hibernating larvae and the spring breeders with adults as the hibernating stage, are distinguished, and two ecological types: woodland species and species living in open habitats. Carabid beetles are beneficial insects and due to their sensitivity to environmental changes
imporiant bioindicotors. Intensive farming is one of the main reasons for the decrease of carabid beetles in our landscape. Therefore, an extensive agriculture with many natural elements(ecological compensation areas) is required to protect our carabid beetles.
