Summary

Animal health and welfare planning (AHWP) is a farmerowned process of continuous improvement. The aim of the ANIPLAN project was to initiate such AHWP in organic dairy herds. The research process from 2007-2010 included a strategy where assessment of current status and risks forms the basis for planning, action and review. 39 Austrian and 15 Swiss organic dairy farms were assessed using animal and resource based parameters.
