Summary
The Region of Murcia (Spain) has one of the main areas
of organic fruit and vegetable production in Europe, with
extensions for some products of between 10 and 20 % of the
country’s organic agriculture surface. This work contains
a survey carried out on 106 farmers, along with a typology
of organic cultivations. First, an analysis was performed by
conglomerates on the variables of each company, distinguishing small and large ones; later, using logistic regression models, an analysis was carried out on the characteristics that define the groups of farmers, the first one being the least professional but most environmentally aware farmers. The typology found of these farmers suggests the interest for more differentiated
development policies for organic farming.

En la Región de Murcia (España) se localiza una de las principales zonas de producción ecológica de frutas y hortalizas de Europa, con extensiones para algunos productos de entre 10 y 20 % de la superficie de agricultura orgánica del país. En el presente trabajo, con una encuesta aplicada a 106 productores, se elabora una tipología de las explotaciones ecológicas. Primero se efectuó un análisis por conglomerados de las variables de las empresas, identificando a pequeños y grandes operadores;
luego, con modelos de regresión logística se analizaron las características que definen a los grupos de productores, correspondiendo el primero a agricultores menos profesionales pero más concienciados con relación al medio ambiente. La tipología de los operadores encontrada sugiere el interés de políticas de fomento a la producción orgánica más diferenciadas.
