Summary in the original language of the document
Summary translation
Renewable and biodegradable packages are currently applied to a limited extent in the Dutch food supply chains, mostly for organic fruit and vegetables. This report summarises the scientific literature on the environmental impact of those renewable and biodegradable packages and relates it to the Dutch use and waste processing methods. It is difficult to formulate conclusions on the environmental impacts of packages used in societies on the basis of LCA studies alone.
