Summary
Ziel des Projekts war der Aufbau und die Etablierung eines einheitlichen Systems zur Beurteilung von Handelsprodukten von Zusatz- und Hilfsstoffen sowie von Zutaten mit technologischer Funktion zur Herstellung von Öko-Lebensmitteln. Es wurden ca. 600 Herstellerfirmen angeschrieben und in einer Telefonaktion die 120 wichtigsten Hersteller persönlich angesprochen.
Positiv beurteilte Produkte werden in der jährlich erscheinenden FiBL-Liste Öko-Verarbeitung für die ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft gelistet. Die Veröffentlichung der ersten Ausgabe der FiBL-Liste Öko-Verarbeitung für die ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft erfolgte im Oktober 2009 anlässlich der Food Ingredients Europe.
Die zweite Ausgabe der FiBL-Liste Öko-Verarbeitung für die ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft ist im Juni 2010 erschienen.
Über die Internetseite www.zusatzstoffe.org können sich Hersteller von Zusatz- und Hilfsstoffen sowie Zutaten mit technologischer Funktion registrieren und mittels PDF-Anmeldeformularen sowohl bio-zertifizierte als auch nicht zertifizierte Handelsprodukte zur Beurteilung anmelden.
Die der Beurteilung zugrunde gelegten Kriterien sind über den Fachausschuss Verarbeitung des BÖLW mit den Öko-Verbänden abgestimmt.
Summary translation
The aim of the project was to develop and establish a standardized system for evaluating commercially available additives, processing aids and inputs serving a technological function for use in organic food processing. The Organic Inputs Evaluation Network established in 2009 with FiBL Frick and infoXgen provided a framework that has enabled the harmonization and refinement of evaluation criteria and procedures for assessing additives and processing aids for the organic food industry. The criteria forming the basis for evaluation have been approved by the organic producers’ associations via the expert committee on processing of the German Federation of the Organic Food Industry (Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft, BÖLW).
Around 600 producer companies were contacted by post and the 120 most important producers were contacted in person by telephone.
Products receiving a positive evaluation are listed in the annually updated FiBL List of Products for Organic Processing for the Organic Food Industry. Publication of the first edition of the FiBL List of Products for Organic Processing was timed to coincide with the food industry exhibition Food Ingredients Europe in October 2009.
The second edition of the FiBL List of Products for Organic Processing for the Organic Food Industry was published in June 2010.
Producers of additives, processing aids and ingredients with a technological function can register online at www.zusatzstoffe.org and use the PDF registration forms to submit their products, certified organic or non-certified, for evaluation.
On conclusion of the project, an updated FiBL List of Products for Organic Processing will be published annually.
