Summary

Summary translation

Since 2003, nitrogen rate experiments have been carried out by the GRAB on vegetable crops in open fied. In 2009, the trial was conducted on the butternut squah, with increasing amounts of total nitrogen : 0 – 50 – 100 – 150 kg/ha, and 2 organic fertilizers.
We found that on average, the highest rates of applied nitrogen (100 and 150 kg/ha) have caused the highest nitrate levels in the soil and higher yields (mainly due to a greater number of fruit per plant).
As in previous years, the castor cake gave good performance for crop fertilization : its nitrogen seems to mineralize more slowly but more completely than the other fertilizer (Bioca-organica 6.3.3, Phalippou Frayssinet), and gave higher yield.
