Producers need practical information and guidance on how to change their systems to affect non-fi nancial and fi nancial outcomes. Recent organic farming benchmarking projects have shown how practical tools can be developed with the participation of stakeholders: these include farm income and fi nancial benchmarking projects at University of Wales, Aberystwyth; animal welfare assessments at Duchy College; socio-economic foot-printing at the University of Exeter; and fi rst attempts to combine the different elements including environmental aspects by Mark Measures Associates and Elm Farm Research Centre. The experiences from these projects provide a basis for developing coherent, integrated approaches to sustainability assessment at farm level, with the aim of developing practical management tools. publisher: Association of Applied Biologists contributor: Atkinson, C contributor: Ball, B contributor: Davies, D H K contributor: Rees, R contributor: Russell, G contributor: Stockdale, E A contributor: Watson, C A contributor: Walker, R contributor: Younie, D date: 2006 type: Conference paper, poster, etc. type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: /id/eprint/10155/1/Sustainability_assessment_for_organic_farming_-_integrating_financial%2C_environmental%2C_social_and_animal_welfare_benchmarking.pdf identifier: Lampkin, N; Fowler, S M; Jackson, A; Jeffreys, I; Lobley, M; Measures, M; Padel, S; Reed, M; Roderick, S and Woodward, L (2006) Sustainability assessment for organic farming - integrating financial, environmental, social and animal welfare benchmarking.
