Potassium, phosphorus and sulphur

An expanding production of organic commercial crops will give rise to a greater removal of nutrients from the farm. These losses can be partly compensated for, but there is a need for basic evaluation studies on the availability and utilisation of nutrients in the soil / plant system.

This project focuses on the ability of organic farms to supply the crops with K, P, and S from the soil's own pool of nutrients in the short and long terms, and the options for promoting the utilisation of nutrients in soils with a low nutrient status. In addition, the consequences of low nutrient status for yield and quality will be examined.
