Summary
Oberziel des Projektes ist es, eine aktuelle und detaillierte Übersicht über den Öko-Sektor in 14 Ländern Mittel- und Osteuropas (Bulgarien, Estland, Kroatien, Litauen, Lettland, Moldawien, Polen, Rumänien, Russische Föderation, Slowenien, Slowakei, Tschechien, Ukraine, Ungarn) zu geben. Damit soll eine Verbesserung der Transparenz des Öko-Sektors in Mittel- und Osteuropa für Marktpartner aus Deutschland erreicht werden, die zu einer Vereinfachung des Zugangs zu den Märkten für Bio-Lebensmittel in MOE und zur Stärkung der Position Deutschlands in der Kooperation und im Handel mit den Ländern Mittel- und Osteuropas führt. Das Projekt ermöglicht eine Verbesserung der Marktstellung deutscher Öko-Unternehmen und damit die auch im BÖL angestrebte Stärkung und Ausdehnung der hiesigen ökologischen Lebensmittelwirtschaft. Es werden folgende Maßnahmen durchgeführt: 1. Sichtung bestehender Daten zu den einzelenen Ländern durch Recherche im Internet sowie mit Hilfe des Netzwerkes von EkoConnect. 2. Befragung der wichtigen Multiplikatoren und Unternehmen (insbesondere Großhandelsunternehmen) sowie Kontrollstellen im jeweiligen Land. 3. Erareitung einer Einschätzung zur künftigen Entwicklung des ökologischen Landbaus und der Absatzmöglichkeiten in MOE. 4. Zusammenstellung der aktuellen Adressen und Informationsquellen. 5. Erstellung der Berichte einschließlich Graphiken und Logos und Einstellen ins Internet (u.a. auf www.oekolandbau.de und bei EkoConnect). 6. Bundesweite Bekanntmachung

Summary translation
Organic agriculture in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) is growing and changing very fast. CEE becomes more and more interesting for Western European and especially German organic processors and traders. However the knowledge of German organic entrepreneurs about the organic agriculture and the organic markets in CEE countries is still poor. For this reason the situation of the organic agriculture in 14 CEE countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Moldowa, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russian Federation, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine) will be analysed and described in country reports in the course of the project. The research will be carried out by making expert interviews and company interviews in these countries. Literature and the information sources in the internet from national and international organisations will be analysed. The countries will be described with emphasis on the market structures and the information needed by German export companies. Also information about the systems of advising, research, education and control in organic agriculture will be gathered. 14 country reports will be written and published on the internet. Organic companies, private organisations and public institutions in Germany will be informed about the reports on the internet via press releases and information in the specialised press. The country reports can also be used for updating country reports in other languages and other countries which leads to more transparency and better development of the organic agriculture all over Europe.
