EPrint Type:Practice tool
Teaser:Learn about different control strategies against the sooty mold disease in organic apple orchards.
What problem does the tool address?:In organic apple growing and also in integrated production, damage caused by epiphytic fungi has increased sharply in recent years. Late varieties in dense orchards that are only extensively cultivated and orchards in humid locations are particularly affected.
What solution does the tool offer?:At the Laimburg Research Centre, field trials have been carried out for many years with various plant protection products as winter treatments before bud break and also during vegetation. These include traditional products such as lime sulfur, copper compounds, carbonates, acid clay and others, but also new experimental products. The aim is to find solutions against sooty mould disease.
