<engabstract>This interdisciplinary project aims to reinforce research into how the qualitative properties of crops depend on the cultivation methods and cultivation systems used in agriculture. The research is also intended to increase understanding of the interaction between parameters of quality and pests, weed infestation, soil and climatic conditions and cultivation methods.

Achieving a high degree of consumer-related quality is an important economic concern for the grower, since high quality can motivate a high price for the product. It is therefore important to obtain information on which factors in the cultivation system influence product quality and which of these factors the growers can alter. In this part of the investigation, the appearance and taste of products will be evaluated and their chemical composition will be determined. Contents of sugars, phenols, glucosinolates, Vitamin C and minerals will be analysed for each type of product.</engabstract>
