A new generation has been set up from 2001 to 2004 in the regions of Bourgogne, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Pays de la Loire and Rhône-Alpes. This program is characterized by 3 points: • a research in partnership for the research questions conception and their valorization, • complex research objects which need an interdisciplinary work, • A program opened to other research organisms and universities. This program concerned 3 thematics: • Thematic 1: Regional development and agricultural production process • Thematic 2: Regional approach of the environment and management of the rural areas • Thematic 3: Products, firms, food industry, dies and territories • Thematic 4: Public policies, actor networks, territorial and regional dynamics. Only a small part of this program concerns organic farming. This part corresponds to the thematic 3, and concerns food systems. none
