In one of the projects, the interaction genotype and environment in pigs is studied in both organic and conventional production. Examples of aspects examine are the behaviour of sows in nest building and farrowing, the ability to produce milk, udder health, piglet mortality and piglet health. The object of another project is to produce data on the nutritional properties of home-produced feed. When there is free access to low energy feed, the protein and amino acid content of the feed is lower. The way this affects the production of slaughter pigs and the quality of meat is investigated. A study is also made, inter alia, of the prevalence of parasites and infectious diseases. In a third project, a number of housing options which are approved according to the KRAV and/or EU rules are compared.
