How much space and what kinds of equipments needed for keeping horned cows in free range systems, without having problems with injuries and stressed animals.&#13;
Up to now there don’t exist any specifications on dimensions of loose housing systems for horned cows.&#13;
Project aims including target group:&#13;
-To develop the basics for adequate dimensions and designs of housing systems and relevant management factors for keeping horned cows in loose housing systems &#13;
-To develop guidelines for farmers&#13;
Methodology:&#13;
Investigation of the influence of extra space in diverse housing areas on the (social) behaviour and the frequency of skin injuries in research herd&#13;
Inquiry on farms: Scoring of skin injuries and registration of housing conditions, management methods and experiences of farmers&#13;
