title: Processed Kaolin as an alternative insecticide against the European pear sucker, Cacopsylla pyri (L.) creator: Daniel, Claudia creator: Pfammatter, W creator: Kehrli, P creator: Wyss, Eric subject: Crop health, quality, protection description: Application of processed kaolin particle film repels insects without lethal effects; hence side effects on beneficial arthropods are low. Processed kaolin may be an alternative to broad-spectrum insecticides used against European pear sucker, Cacopsylla pyri (L.), in organic and conventional pear production. Trials showed that the processed kaolin showed a very high efficacy, and the population of C. pyri was kept under a damaging level over the whole season. In conclusion, kaolin shows promise as an alternative control for C. pyri in organic and orchards of Integreted Pest Management. date: 2005 type: Journal paper type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf identifier: http://orgprints.org/6053/1/Daniel-2005-Kaolin-eng.pdf format: application/pdf identifier: http://orgprints.org/6053/2/Wyss-2005-Kaolin-Psylla-JAE.pdf identifier: Daniel, Claudia; Pfammatter, W; Kehrli, P and Wyss, Eric (2005) Processed Kaolin as an alternative insecticide against the European pear sucker, Cacopsylla pyri (L.).
