September 2004 in BernEin grosser Teil der Konsumentinnen und Konsumenten und auch verschiedene Produktionsrichtlinien lehnen die Verwendung von gentechnisch veränderten Organismen und deren Folgeprodukten in der Lebensmittelproduktion ab. Deshalb muss die Wahlfreiheit erhalten und die Produktion ohne Gentechnik weiterhin möglich sein. Diese Themen wurden bei einer Tagung in Bern im September 2004 diskutiert. Im vorliegenden Tagungsband informieren Fachleute aus Verwaltung, Forschung und Praxis über den aktuellen Stand der gesetzlichen Vorgaben und deren Umsetzung bei Lebens- und Futtermitteln sowie beim Saatgut. Ausgehend von den Erfahrungen der Bioproduktion erarbeitete das FiBL Vorschläge für Standards für die Produktion mit Gentechnik und die Produktion ohne Gentechnik.
