Dies deshalb, da sich der Biologische Landbau an folgenden Prinzipien orientiert: • Streben nach weitgehend geschlossenen Stoffkreisläufen im landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb, • Stärkung und Nutzung natürlicher Selbstregulationsmechanismen, • Schonender Umgang mit nicht erneuerbaren Rohstoffen und Energieressourcen, • Erhaltung und Verbesserung der Vielfalt der Arten und des Landschaftsbildes sowie • artgemäße Tierhaltung, -fütterung und -zucht.
