title: Ethical concerns associated with organic food in Europe creator: Padel, Susanne creator: Nicholas, Phillipa creator: Jasinska, Aleksandra creator: Lampkin, Nicolas subject: Markets and trade subject: Farming Systems subject: Values, standards and certification description: Values are at the centre of organic farming. The paper examines ethical concerns that are important to consumers, producers and other stakeholders in relation to organic farming practice and how this relates to current standards and the four IFOAM principles of health, ecology, fairness and care. Most concerns can be categorised under four headings but important issues are cross cutting. Currently, standards cover, both directly and indirectly, only a part of ethical values associated with organic food and agriculture but many producers aim to deliver on a broader range. date: 2008 type: Conference paper, poster, etc. type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf identifier: http://orgprints.org/12132/1/12132.pdf identifier: Padel, Susanne; Nicholas, Phillipa; Jasinska, Aleksandra and Lampkin, Nicolas (2008) Ethical concerns associated with organic food in Europe. 16th IFOAM Organic World Congress, Modena, Italy, June 16-20, 2008.
