Summary

The purpose of this study was to clarify the problems of Estonian organic farmers and find out their quit reasons. In March 2005 with the aid of a questionnaire 64 organic farming quitters were inquired. Information was collected through telephone interviews. The main reasons were — financially not worthwhile, the compensation system is too bureaucratic and time consuming, and other reasons.
