Summary

Summary translation

This work aims to study the effect of fish powder on three types of tomato cultivated according to the organic protocol. This experiment was carried out under a greenhouse “Delta 9”, in the western south of Morocco (Agadir).Three doses of fish powder (73 g/plant, 110 g/plant and 140 g/plant which represented 170 kg of nitrogen per hectare, 255 N/ha and 360 N/ha respectively) were applied to three types of tomato (bunch, round and cherry). The results show that fish powder has contributed to the improvement of the soil fertility. In fact, organic matter in the soil increased from 0.64% before plantation to 1.32% after the harvest of the 8th cluster and nitrates in the soil decreased by half passing from 8.2 ppm to 4.2 ppm. Whereas, total nitrogen, potassium, magnesium and sodium were not affected by the dose of fertilizer. The yield increased with the dose of fish powder and passed from 79 t/ha for the dose of 170 N/ha to 85 t/ha for 360 N/ha. Concerning the quality of the fruits, cherry tomato contains significantly more total sugar (6.8°Brix) than the two other types, and bunch tomato has presented the highest firmness. Given its content (80% OM, 12% nitrogen, 6% phosphor et 4% calcium) and its price (58 €/100 kg), fish powder could constitute a suitable fertilizer in the case of organic tomato.
