Summary

Auf dem 140 ha großen Biobetrieb der Landwirtschaftlichen Bundesversuchswirtschaften GmbH in Rutzendorf wurde 2003 ein umfassendes Langzeitmonitoring zur Entwicklung des biologischen Landbaus eingerichtet.
Die Wirkungen der Umstellung auf den biologischen Landbau auf Boden, Wasser, Flora und Fauna werden anhand ausgewählter Eigenschaften erfasst. Entsprechend der Konzeption des Betriebs werden drei Düngungsvarianten verglichen. Die Bedeutung verschiedener vorhandener Biotope (Gehölzstreifen, Hecken, ...) wird charakterisiert und neue, ergänzende Biotope sollen geplant und angelegt werden.

A long term field monitoring concerning the development of organic farming is performed at the bio-farm "Rutzendorf" (140 ha) of the BVW GmbH in the Marchfeld since 2003. A scientific concept for the conversion from conventional farming to organic farming was developed and put into practice. The effect of the conversion to organic farming onto soil, water, flora and fauna should be estimated by specific parameters. According to the concept of the bio-farm the effects of three different organic fertilizer strategies on to the soil properties and crop production are compared. The importance of consisting biotop structures (hedge rows, groves, ...) should be characterized, and new biotope structures should be planned and laid out.
