Summary

The following paper shows the impact of organic farming on the development of contents of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and pH in the soil. The basis is a six-year crop rotation with animal manures (ca. 85 dt/ha/a) in the location of Gül-zow (Mecklenburg-Prepomerania). From 1993 to 2003 samples of soil were taken with aa soil auger in a depth between 0 and 30 cm. The discussion of changes in the nutrient contents are connected with nutrient balances. As a re-sult, organic farming does notnot lead to lower nutrient contents in soil. Only the content of potassium shows a decreasing tendency. The pH is atat a high level and the content of magnesium increases a little.
