Summary
Piglet production in organic livestock farming has to be increased because the general conditions have changed in organic fattening pig production since August 2003. The EU Directives have given specifics of keeping sows and piglets. This Point and the necessity of an effective production require to pay attention on:
- designing a compulsory outdoor area needed in every phase of keeping
- selection of an appropriate farrowing system
- the kind of barn construction
