Summary
593 farmers practice organic farming on 107.412 hectares in Mecklenburg-Prepomerania. This is more than 7 % of the agricultural area. 63 % of the organic farmland is greenland, that is why the cattle is important. Natural conditions, farm size and structure of farms are varying very much. Most of the production is sold via producer associations. The following analysis gives an overview of organic farming in Mecklenburg-Prepomerania.
