Summary

Summary translation

Since September 2013, information about the best practice in organic agriculture is being communicated via a new established network of organic farmers called “BioRegio-Betriebsnetz” (network of regional organic farms). The Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL) in cooperation with the Landesvereinigung für den Ökologischen Landbau in Bayern e.V. – LVÖ (umbrella organisation for organic farming in Bavaria) set up a network of exemplary organic farms in Bavaria (Germany). The primary aim is the direct transfer of knowledge from farmer to farmer to increase the rate of conversion to organic farming. The BioRegio-Betriebsnetz is complementary to the organic farming advice service of Bavarian State Offices for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry and to the organic farmers organisations advice services. The participating farmers are highly motivated and hope for a better acceptance of organic farming in the public and among their colleagues. The first classes of the professional schools of agriculture have had their scheduled organic-farming-day and some farmer-to-farmer-conversations have already taken place.
