Summary
O vime contribui para a manutenção de mais de 1.400 unidades produtivas familiares no Planalto Sul Catarinense. A espécie tradicionalmente utilizada é o Salix x rubens, que apresenta boa aceitação entre os produtores. Esses, porém, reclamam do declínio das lavouras e da elevada taxa de ramificação do vime produzido. O presente trabalho avaliou as condições de implantação e a produtividade dos vimais dessa região. A aplicação do método adaptado de Summer & Farina (1986) aos dados coletados permitiu o estabelecimento de regiões de insuficiência, balanço e excesso para as principais características de implantação das lavouras. O adensamento e a redução do tamanho da estaca no plantio, que vem ocorrendo na região, estão reduzindo a longevidade dos vimais.
Summary translation
The willow crop helps to maintain more than 1,400 family unities farms in the Southern Plateau of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The specie traditionally used is Salix x rubens, which has good acceptance among producers. These, however, complain of declining fields and the high rate of branching of wicker produced. This study evaluated the implantation conditions and productivity of willows fields of this region. The method adapted from Summer & Farina (1986) applied to collected data allowed the establishment of areas of weakness, balance and excess to the main deployment characteristics of crops. The density of the planting of willow and reducing the size of the cuttings planting, what is happening in the region are reducing the longevity of crops.
