Summary

O meio rural brasileiro tem presenciado uma série de mudanças em seus espaços, podendo-se observar um acréscimo significativo no número de unidades familiares envolvidas com a industrialização da produção agrícola. Mesmo com a proliferação dessa estratégia, ainda são restritos os estudos que tem se debruçado sobre essa temática. Diante disso, o objetivo desse trabalho é entender de que forma a agroindustrialização familiar vem auxiliando na (re)configuração das propriedades e do meio rural, focalizando a análise empírica em 45 empreendimentos situados na Região das Missões no Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Os resultados dessa pesquisa apontam que a estratégia de agroindustrialização na agricultura familiar vem contribuindo na formação de novas identidades e feições para o meio rural, mostrando alterações significativas no que se tange a composição familiar, sucessão do patrimônio, êxodo rural, estrutura fundiária e diversificação produtiva.


Summary translation

The Brazilian rural areas has witnessed several changes in its spaces, has been possible observe a significant addition in the number of family farmers occupied in the industrialization of the farm production. Although the proliferation of this strategy, there are few studies devoted to this thematic. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to understand the forms how the family agrofood industry change the configuration of the farm and the rural areas, focusing the empirical analysis in 45 enterprises situated in the region of Missões, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The results point that the strategy of agro-industrialization in family farm contribute in the formation of new identities and formats for the rural areas, showing significant alterations in the family composition, succession of the patrimony, rural exodus, agrarian structure and productive diversification.
