Summary

Käesoleva töö eesmärk on uurida ja analüüsida Tartu linna lasteaedade võimalusi ja
valmisolekut mahetoitlustamiseks, lastevanemate ja administratsiooni teadlikkust mahetoidust
ning tuua välja mahetoidu kasutamist soodustavaid ja takistavaid asjaolusid. Selleks
selgitatakse välja:
• millised on lasteaedade praktikad ja võimalused toiduhankimisel?
• kui teadlikud on lasteaedade administratsioon ja hoolekogu liikmed mahetoidu
erinevuste osas?
• kas mahetoiduga seotud teabe kättesaadavust hinnatakse piisavaks?
• kas ja miks soovitakse mahetoitu lasteaias pakkuda?
• milliseid takistusi nähakse mahetoidu pakkumisel lasteaias?
• milliseid on eelistatumad mahedad tootegrupid menüüs?
• milline on küsitletute poolt aktsepteeritud hinnalisa mahetoodete osas?
Samuti uuritakse nii Eesti kui ka teiste riikide kogemusi mahetoidu pakkumisel lasteasutustes.
Lisaks võimaldab uurimuse läbiviimine tekitada diskussiooni ja teadvustada mahetoidu
kasutamisest kui alternatiivsest toitlustusvõimalusest lasteaias.


Summary translation

At the moment the food in kindergartens consists of a very marginal part of organic food.
There are organic manufacturers and buyers who are already interested in selling to catering
companies, including kitchens of kindergartens. Due to their small weight children are more
jeopardised by the pesticide recitues and harmful substances than the adults. Organic catering
in kindergartens is also good for dispreading valuable environmental knowledge.
To examine the readiness and possibilities of providing organic food in kindergartens of
Tartu- the practice of general catering, the awareness and usage of organic food, the
circumstances that predispose and hold back the usage of organic food- an interview was done
with 33 administrative workers in kindergartens of Tartu in the beginning of 2009. Also 31
kindergartens’ board members were questioned at the same time.
