Summary

Summary translation

During the last years, in organic agriculture, cereal cropping systems developed, leading farmers to be dependant on expensive nitrogen inputs. In such cropping systems, introducing an undersown legume may reduce the dependency of the system on these inputs. Numerous researches studied this association but their conclusions are contrasted.
In the various studied experiments, the covers growth was limited this year during the period of association with wheat. This can be explained by a relatively dry spring. Consequently, these do not influence the performance of wheat as opposed to nitrogen fertilization that improves them significantly.
Wheat harvest seems to significantly improve the legume covers growth. expected benefits for the next year in terms of nitrogen supply and limiting weed for intercropping are then important.
