Summary

Summary translation

The aim of this desk research was to explore the potential market for organic food products among Turks, Moroccans and Surinamese in The Netherlands. Therefore literature was studied on current food behaviours and perceptions of food.
A total of over a million Turks, Moroccans and Surinamese are living in the Netherlands in 2009. This group consists of more first-generation immigrants than second-generation immigrants, though the latter group is growing fast. In fact, the expectation is that 2.7 million residents in the Netherlands will be of non-Western origin by 2050. Partly due to the size of this group, the market Development Organic Agricultural Task Force expressed the desire to investigate perceptions of organic products within these population groups by means of a literature study. This group often has a different lifestyle from people of Dutch ethnicity. In order to gain insight into the extent to which organic agricultural products can be sold to Turkish, Moroccan and Surinamese people in the Netherland this study carried out.
