Summary
Onze wereld is constant in beweging. Door innovatie kunnen deze uitdagingen opportuniteiten worden. Maar een nieuw product, proces of handeling introduceren is sneller gezegd als gedaan. De nodige kennis is voorhanden, maar vaak is deze sterk verspreid, complex en niet meteen toepasbaar. (Biologische) Landbouwers kunnen beter toegang krijgen tot die kennis door deel te nemen in allerhande netwerken. Deze netwerken nemen verschillende vormen aan zoals informele contacten, voorlichting, proefcentra of een federatie. Door de rol van netwerken in innovatie te onderzoeken in verschillende sectors (waaronder biologische landbouw) kunnen we de netwerkbehoefte van land- en tuinbouwers beter afstemmen op de noden. Zo kunnen we bijdragen tot een beter gebruik van netwerken voor innovatieve toepassingen in de biologische landbouw.
Summary translation
Our world is constantly in motion. Through innovation, these challenges can become opportunities. But introducing a new product, process or other novelty is easier said as done. The necessary knowledge is available, but is often highly distributed, complex and not immediately applicable. (Organic) Farmers may have better access to that knowledge by participating in all kinds of networks. These networks take different forms such as informal contacts, extension-services or a federation. By investigating the role of networks in innovation in different sectors (including organic farming), we can make the networks more responsive to the needs of farmers. This way, we can also contribute to a better use of networks for innovative applications in organic farming.
