Summary
Land use systems integrating trees and agriculture have been practised for thousands of years, and have traditionally been important elements of the agricultural landscape in tropical and temperate regions around the world. This report reviews explores a range of traditional temperate agroforestry practices and goes on to describe their decline and the development of modern systems.
