Summary
1. Vorhabenziel
Ziel ist die Schaffung eines einheitlichen Systems zur Beurteilung von Handelsprodukten, die als Zutaten mit technologischer Funktion, Zusatzstoffe oder technische Hilfsstoffe, bei der Verarbeitung von Ökoprodukten eingesetzt werden. Positiv beurteilte Handelsprodukte sollen in FiBL-Liste Öko-Verarbeitung veröffentlicht werden.
2. Arbeitsplanung
Die Arbeitsplanung umfasst alle Schritte von der Ausarbeitung der Systems, der Recherche und Auswertung notwendiger Informationen, der Etablierung eines Beirats bis hin zur Erstellung und Druck der betreffenden Handelsproduktliste für das Jahr 2009.
3. Geplante Ergebnisverwertung
Die Ergebnisse des Vorhabens finden sich in der zu druckenden Zusatzstoffliste. Die Veröffentlichung der ersten FiBL-Liste Öko-Verarbeitung soll in 2009 erfolgen.

Summary translation
Commercial additives and aids include besides the technical effective substances also non-declared aids (e.g. inert carrier or coating material). Annex VI of the organic EC Regulation regulates only the acceptance of the effective substances. However conclusions about the conformity of the product are only possible by assessing the whole product covering all included aids.
The project aims at elaboration and establishing a homogeneous system for the assessment of products used for processing of organic food in Germany.
Products positively assessed shall be published on printed product lists. Certified organic products with technical effects and other alternative positively assessed technologies (e.g. organic yeast for bakery, organic pectin, plant extracts containing nitrite) will be listed in addition.
Transparency among all market partners will be increased by providing standardized and clear guidelines. Unfair competition, insecurity and risks arising from the application of varying criteria for the assessment of products will be reduced.
Target groups of a trade name product list are i) processors of organic products (from farms over processing enterprises (SME’s) up to the food industry), ii) the organic associations and iii) the inspection bodies.
Regular publishing of a list where all products in the field of technical ingredients, additives and aids are included shall strengthen the self-control-system of the organic food processors.
The processing enterprises will be advised on the possibilities of using organic products by listing organic-certified substitutes. This contributes to the further reduction of conventional additives in the production of organic food.
