Summary

Summary translation

Summary
The project 'Ökosimphyt', promoted by the BÖL, included the development of application strategies for organic potato farming with the aim to optimise copper application. The study investigated the weather-based model 'Ökosimphyt', which calculates the ideal timing and application rate to control secondary leaf infections. Additionally the study tested copper seed treatment of the tubers to reduce primary stem infections. Latently infected seed tubers bear a high risk of spreading the infection to other plants. The tested copper seed treatment led to a clear decrease of primary stem infections. The ULV technology used enables a proper protection of the tubers with small amounts of copper (120g/ha).
