Summary
Ziel des Projekts „Naturschutzberatung für den Ökologischen Landbau – Entwicklung und Optimierung von Beratungsansätzen für die Integration von Naturschutzzielen auf Biohöfen“ war, bundesweit Aktivitäten zur Einrichtung einzelbetrieblicher Naturschutzberatung für Biobetriebe zu unterstützen und weiterzuentwickeln. Das Projekt stand als Impulsgeber und Ansprechpartner für initiative Akteure (Behördenvertreter, Ökolandbauverbände, Beratungsinstitutionen …) zur bundesländer-spezifischen Einrichtung einzelbetrieblicher Beratungsansätze für Biobetriebe zur Verfügung. Die im Rahmen des Projektes eingerichtete Website www.naturschutzberatung.info und ein Newsletter unterstützten die Vernetzung der Akteure und den Informationsaustausch.
Seit November 2001 gibt es in Norddeutschland eine Naturschutzberatung für ökologisch wirtschaftende Betriebe. Diese Beratung ergänzt die bestehende anbautechnisch und betriebswirtschaftlich orientierte Spezialberatung und unterstützt Landwirte, die Naturschutzmaßnahmen umsetzen wollen von der Ideenfindung bis zur Planung und Umsetzung. Das Ziel, bundesweit dem Konzept Einzelbetrieblicher Naturschutzberatung für den Ökolandbau zum Durchbruch zu verhelfen, konnte im Projekt trotz verschiedenster Bemühungen nicht zum Erfolg geführt werden. Als hinderlich bei der Etablierung weiterer Beraterstellen erweist sich die starke Kürzung von Mitteln aus der „2. Säule“ im Kontext der EU-Agrarpolitik. Dennoch konnten Teilerfolge erzielt werden; in Nordrhein-Westfalen wurde eine Beraterstelle nach niedersächsischem Vorbild etabliert. Neben der Unterstützung von Initiativen und Einzelpersonen in ganz Deutschland, die über die Projektlaufzeit hinaus in der Thematik aktiv sind, sind in Thüringen und Rheinland-Pfalz Elemente des Einzelbetrieblichen Naturschutzberatungs-Konzepts in neue Landesprogramme eingeflossen, die derzeit umgesetzt werden. Auch das durch die Projektaktivitäten initiierte „Netzwerk Naturschutzberatung“ hat sich etabliert und wird über die Projektlaufzeit hinaus als Austauschforum und Kontaktbörse Bestand haben.

The aim of the project “nature conversation advisory service for organic farms – development and optimisation of advisory services for an integration of nature protection targets on organic farms” was to support and to develop activities for nature conversation advisory services on farm level for organic farmers in consideration of federal-state specials / regional distinctions. Within the projects protagonists (authorities, organic farming organisations, advisory service, etc.) got impulses and help by the project to implement nature conversation advisory services on farm level for organic farms. The networking of actors and an exchange of information has been supported by a website www.naturschutzberatung.info and a newsletter.
Since November 2001 a nature conversation advisory service for organic farms has existed in Northern Germany (in Lower Saxony). This specific advisory service completes the existing advisory service with its focus on technical and economical questions. The nature conversation advisory service for organic farms supports the farmers in realising nature protection measures – from searching for ideas to making plans and implementing them.
The aim to establish a concept such a service on farm level for organic farms all over the country could not be reached, although there were many efforts. One of the main reasons was the reduction of financial support in the “second pillar” within the Common Europaen Agricultural Policy. Nevertheless it was possible to reach sub-targets: In the federal state North-Rhine-Westphalia an advisory service was established similar to the advisory service in Lower Saxony an has been helpful for lot of farmers since then. Also lots of initiatives and private actors all over Germany got impulses for their work and will remain active in this field also when the project is finished. Furthermore some aspects of the concept have been included into federal state programs, e.g. Thuringia und Rheinland-Pfalz.
The network “nature conversation advisory service” which was initiated within the project is established and will be used further on as an exchange forum and a platform for exchanging experiences.
