Summary

The Nordic, European and global societies are focusing more and more on sustainable development including food production and the management of rural areas. Organic agri-culture is based on explicit values and with its basic principles of recycling, precaution and proximity it can be considered as a concrete model for developing a sustainable agricul-ture. This presentation focuses on seeing organic farming as a perspective rather than a niche for agriculture and on how we can use organic agriculture and its principle for de-veloping a more sustainable agriculture.
