Summary

Summary translation

Recycling of degasified manures, from biogas plants, to crops in organic farming may contribute to spread of parasites from domestic animals. In the DARCOFF project BIOCONCENS, survival of Ascaris suum (nematode parasite in pigs) in organic mesophilic (35-40°C) and thermophilic (>45°C) biogas plants is studied. Asgaris suum is very persistent and thus an appropriate indicator organism in the project, where especially the effect of temperature is measured. BIOCONCENS will provide important information about how animal manure can be recycled without impairing animal and human health.
