Summary

Summary translation

A ongoing research project including groups from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Risø National Laboratory funded by the Danish Research Centre for Organic Farming (DARCOF) focus on how to increase the production of organic grain legumes and cereals in order to cover an increasing demand especially for pigs and poultry. According to new EU regulations all feed have to be of organic origin, and thereby also GMO-free from year 2005. The objectives for this project are not regarded only to be relevant for organic farming but also conventional farming because it is believed that the debate about the substantial imports of especially soybean to EU is expected to continue in the nearest future.
